The license that Facebook previously had is call BSD + Patents and one of the things that may have displeas people in the long run is that there was a clause in this license that stat that it was impossible to sue the company in the event of patent infringement.

The platform assur that it would stop using React if the company did not change its license. Although ongoing projects would not be exclud, the following ones would use a Java library other than Facebook’s.
September 22: After pressure from the WordPress platform and the Apache Foundation, the company agre to change its patent.
