I already told you about it. We created a market study for an Amazon niche for an agency client in Germany. Last week we had the presentation. I already had a feeling that it didn’t go as I would have liked. Yesterday I met with the client to get more detailed feedback and discuss next steps.
Critical feedback from the client
There were several aspects that he didn’t like. The good thing about having a German client is that some of them tell you directly. In Spain there is another culture, so to speak, where in these cases communication stops and the bill that is out there simply doesn’t get paid.
Content: The client has no previous email data experience with Amazon. That’s why he knows the relationship between seller-brand-product. In this Amazon niche, well-known brands are not represented directly but in many cases are resold even under the sellers’ own brands.
Background noise: Last week we moved into the new office and we were in the middle of shipping non-stop. I wasn’t aware that there was so much annoying background noise.
Aesthetics: This point surprised me, but at the design level there can always be different aesthetic tastes. He didn’t like the way we prepared the data. Here he would have liked something more visual.
Next steps on our part
He admitted that part of the blame was his you need to know that the anchor for not having specified 100% well what he needed at the data level. Both in the proposal and in several previous emails I had described what we were going to do and he did not take action to specify it.
He asked me to send him the invoice. Despite not being happy, I understand that we have made a significant effort that gives us the right to charge for that service.
I see potential with this client
I already said it in the meeting, but also material data because of those two previous points we are going to make more effort. I agree that we have not given everything. It is also true that you have to limit your efforts if you do not charge a very high amount. Now we are going to invest more time, the work will no longer be profitable (in fact we have already invested more time than I would have liked) but I see it as an investment. This client is interested in becoming a recurring client. This will be the case when we present the new presentation with the already adapted data.
